He’s a great young player with bags of potential however I’d be concerned going into 2022 with 2 young halves if the intention would be to pair him with Smith.
I think Wire will put a few hundred grand on the table for him and I don’t see us trying to compete. I do like the lad and he’s had a good start to the year but I must admit to think he’s been a little overrated in his career to date. There’s potential there and there are flashes of good form but it’s too much to expect two young halves to run the side as you point out.
I think the obvious pick up for us long term would be George Williams. The issue with that is he may not want to come back next year or even in the year or two after that. A pairing of him and Harry Smith looks so well balanced on paper and I’d love to think we’ll see it one day but it may not be for a couple of years yet, if at all.
