Shaun Wane back coaching Wigan next year?

Sounds like his pretty keen to get back into club coaching after the World Cup. Lam off contract (and was only planning on being here for a year anyway).

Personally I’d love him back.

He was good for us undoubtedly but his time has been and gone. It’s Lam’s time, then the next coaches time etc. Never say never but he’s far too invested in England RL to consider club land and rightly so IMO.

No thank you! I like to be entertained. After watching Wigan for over 60 years I was thinking of packing it in when Wane was coach.
I was buzzing after watching the Wakefield match last Thursday. Some of the tries were enthralling!

Interesting.

Personally I don’t think the rugby we’ve played since Lams arrival is better than in Wanes era.

I also find winning grand finals really entertaining.

I don't think we ever really heard the reason he left, so it's difficult to know whether it is something that has since been resolved or not.

Still waiting for Lam to bring his attacking brand of rugby that he promised.

I think falling crowds and a discontent about the style of rugby we played were significant contributors to his departure.

I’m sure there was more to it too though.

I seem to remember the press conference when Lam and Edwards were announced there were a few references to the new coaching set up and a more entertaining rugby philosophy.

If things were straight between Wane and Lenagan and he wanted to come back here in 2022, I’d be absolutely chuffed if we made it happen. His brand of rugby is winning rugby and it’s not exactly been a thrill a minute try fest since he left. When he speaks in interviews about England, he just has an aura about him that I don’t sense in Lammy.

I don’t expect it to happen but would love it to.

Personal choice I guess. I very much enjoy watching Wigan play under Lam week in week out than I did under Wane.

I think Wane has the perfect job for his style of coaching. All that matters is you win. Winning ugly doesn’t matter just win.

Obviously that is the same in finals Super League rugby but week in week out I think most fans pay to be entertained and I think that wasn’t a strength of Wane’s coaching philosophy.

Think he is a great coach and perfect for the GB/England job and I’d be disappointed if he walked away after the World Cup as I don’t think we stand a snowballs chance in hell this time around but could do in 4 years time under his leadership.
