Good point on the visa. Tbh I have zero idea on that legal side of stuff.
My 1st thought was Leilua, but I guess we don't need him? He's better than Zak and Gildart & I'd love to see him dishing it out, but there's other more pressing issues in the squad.
What about Mybe? He seems to be on the outer with the Laurie, Doueihi, Brooks and now potentially Hastings.
Mybe, Field and Smith as our spine isn't too shabby and Field + Mybe can play a couple of positions.
Recruitment of Leilua would fall in the same category has having three wingers on good wages with one sat in the stands
Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Most idiotic post ever goes to Grimmy..... The way to restart should be an arm wrestle between a designated player from each side.
I'm not really ready to call Hastings fit to burn unless he starts doing anything negative to force a move (e.g. refusing to train a-la Hock). If he wants a move but is willing to put in 100% for Wigan this season if the two clubs can't come to terms, then fair enough. This does feel like an instance where the club should be willing to stand their ground if necessary though. Leaving mid-contract is par for the course, leaving days before the start of the season isn't.

Agreed to be fair.
All we know for sure is Wests want him.
As far as we know Hastings has said, nah I’ve spend time quarantining etc, I don’t want to let Wigan down so close to the season. I want to win a super league GF.
For what it’s worth he’s at Robin Park having his headshot done in a full kit this morning.
Bet Hastings is gutted Wests didn’t realise they wanted him in December.
His mum seems to be shooting down the rumours on the facbook pages, saying that this is old news as any negotiations happened when he was in aus. He is over here to fulfill his contract agreement with wigan.
On this subject though, does nobody else think that his mum being on these forums is having a negative effect on some fans view of Jackson? Like i know that we have some moronic fans, especially on this facebook pages, but she seems to get argumentative and made dodgy remarks whenever his loyalty is questioned or somebody mentions that they are not a fan of the media circus that seems to come with him.
Now somebody commented he would be doing us a favour by leaving (questionable comment admittedly) but his mum went on to reply "lets see how your season goes without him then", this comment has now been deleted. How does that help the situation at all? If she stuck to comments denying rumours it would be a non-issue but replying to fans of the club like that just adds fuel to the fire and is very unprofessional all round. There have been numerous other comments like this also this morning / on past rumours.
I feel the club need to make it clear with either Hastings or his mum that it is not acceptable for a family member of a player to interact with fans in this way on social media, no matter how moronic the comment.

Absolutely.
I’d be a little miffed with Maguire if I were Wigan. Where is the respect of saying ‘he’s a Wigan player’ to the press. By all means talk behind closed doors to Wigan about the potential of a move but have a little more respect for a club who have you a start in head coaching.
What will be will be with Hastings. They need to talk to him and lay their cards on the table and see where his mind is at. I just hope we learn some lessons out of it all and try and find some stability in key positions.

You can see where he gets his lack of ability to ‘ignore the idiots’ from if that’s the case.
It’s a real weakness for him and something he just needs to avoid for me, especially when he does go to the NRL.

Agree with this. I'm not for one minute bashing Hastings at the moment. He's contracted with us and if he was still in Aus at the moment refusing to come home would be another thing but he's here, wearing Wigan training gear and ready for selection. Benefit of doubt for me, unless he starts acting up as you say above. But there's no reason for this to happen, he's always put 100% in for us when here.
