In all seriousness I’d expect both French and Hastings back now with the season less than 4 weeks away. I accept both needed an extended break back home given the pandemic but they should both be back now really. Could be wrong here but do they both have to quarantine when back in the UK? Further adds to the delay if so.
I would just like to add that I don’t want an announcement, both will be here this season, and I don’t believe either is the anti Christ for having the sheer audacity to go home to their families in the off season

From what I saw in an article Lam stated they were due to return however the Covid issues at the club had delayed that.
As long as they are training at home which I believe both are I’ve no real issue but would like to see them back at the latest 10 days prior to kick off.

Fair enough. Like I said I’m not up in arms about it and I can imagine they’re not training.
To be honest the C19 outbreak at the club I’d forgotten about.
You want a couple of weeks of them training with ball in hand with the team IMO and ideally longer. It all seems very vague about when they’ll be back. All jokes about aside about Hastings having Joe Lydon posters on his wall as a child or wearing cherry and white socks to school but both he and French are well paid, professional sportsmen and the club isn’t playing in a pub league. If the extended break helped us keep them then I’m all for it and if the extension of it couldn’t be helped due to our covid issues then it’s not a problem but clearly they need to be back pretty soon. It can’t be easy in modern times sorting the logistics of that but questions are being asked now and the longer it drags, the more will be asked.

Fitness wise I have no worries whatsoever. Those two lads are exceptional athletes looking at them but as our two biggest attacking threats, you’d like to think they’ll have a couple of weeks minimum to work with the rest of the team in training.
Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Most idiotic post ever goes to Grimmy..... The way to restart should be an arm wrestle between a designated player from each side.

From what I read, Lam was saying they can use gyms out there but wouldn't be able to here as the training ground is/was shut. There's an article somewhere on Wigan Today. To be fair for all we know it may have swung the deal for them to sign on for another year if they were allowed a bit more time with their families during the off season.

I'm sure it's all been pre-agreed with the club, return flights will have been booked way in advance.
Sure they were but things seem to have changed with the closure of the training facility. They’ve said that was a reason to let them have longer at home and that’s seem absolutely fair enough but I can imagine sorting the logistics of flights back from Oz must be so tough, so we can only hope it’s been straightforward enough to rearrange and get them back here pretty sharpish.
