That George's injury is no difference to an ACL in terms of timelines? That simply isn't true when you factor in how long George's injury has gone on for and will go on for and the fact he has had to medically retire or whatever they are calling it.

yes I am, Doms ACL has been plaguing him 3 years and has forced to have clean out surgery and keeps flaring up, it has forced him into only playing 9 games in 3 years

Wigan wouldn't be able to make a decision at the point of the Op being successful, it would surely be after the recovery and the physio. At which point in time you would probably guess it would be close to the 2021 season being finished.

If that is correct he will have spent 2 years out of the game and it wouldn't be a risk worth taking.

He will move back to Sydney. Not sure why he would stay in the UK if he isn't playing rugby here.

Because, when fit he is a top class prop.

I don't think they would have anticipated Manfredi having recurring injuries the same way they will with Burgess, otherwise he would be gone too. This Burgess injury sounds a lot more complex, with a lower likelihood that he'll ever be properly sorted in terms of being able to play professional rugby regularly. They're just very different circumstances.

in theory yes but was his second ACL in that knee so was always a risk, used to be a career ender, hes done 3 ACL's now.

Has anyone at your end heard anything regarding Harry Smith going on loan for the season.

Little whisper in the press hear in West Yorks he may be coming to Odsal for the season ?

Wasn’t someone suggesting on here a while back that all of our young lads would benefit from spending time under the coaching oracle that is John Kear to aid their development...I mean we need this desperately obviously as we’re really struggling to get lads through from academy level.

On a serious note, I think lower SL or not at all, or it would be a waste of time.

I've not heard anything, but I can see this happening. He is a promising talent and isn't guaranteed regular game time with us re-signing Hastings and Leuluai as well as bringing in Field. In 2022 there's a fair likelihood Hastings and Leuluai won't be here so we need to know whether he can step up to being first choice. Ideally I'd want him on loan at another SL club but I'd rather him be playing 80 mins every week at a good Championship club than have him sat in the stands most weeks.
