Think thats a bit unfair to be honest, Wigan have got the fair share of signings right i think. Our recent big signings:-

Sam- speaks for its self

Hardaker- great signing

French- should have been man of steel

Hastings- top top drawer player and was current mos when signed

Burgess- turned out a Poor signing

Bateman- heres hoping he carries on where he left off

Obviously there has been several which were not big name signings who have done well and also some who have not but its all relative to what we have to spend at that point.

Think if anything him and Lenegan and others at the club deserve nothing but praise for what they have done, especially with the goings on of the last 12 months. Totally agree with bringing players in who will improve us but not all signings turn out as planned. In Wigan i trust.

I wasn't having a dig at the Club's signings in general, just those in the prop department. Burgess and Clark have not been inspired signings in my view, although I do have some sympathy for George.

Anybody who watched Clark outside of his good game against us knew he was poop, he actually performed better for us than I thought he would which says a lot. Burgess i can’t personally comment as I don’t watch enough NRL, not until last season anyway but plenty on this forum both Wigan and opposition fans knew he was a bust. Pretty poor recruitment by us.

I actually think it is an attitude issue with Clark.

I don’t doubt his potential but he looks destined not to make it.

When he was coming through at Bradford he was a stand out performer every week. Usually brought on off the bench and created massive impact.

His early days at Cas too he looked like being a cracking player, but somewhere between then and now something has gone wrong.

Whatever the issue is with him it is a shame as he has the potential to be a good impact prop. Clock is ticking though on his career and at the moment it looks like one that will be unfulfilled.

It’s similar in a way to the transition to the NRL at a club like Canberra where they train for longer hours and at high intensity.

I’m not saying that’s definitely the case here but it wouldn’t surprise me.

dont need to, The person on the podcast kept going on about the NRL being superior in intensity and training, Bateman soon closed him down saying he was at a top club at Wigan and it wasnt much difference

To be honest when we signed Burgess everyone was overjoyed. No one expressed doubt at the time (on here anyway). That doesn't excuse the club for whatever medical they checks they failed to do though.
