Some Salford fan said to me and I quote "You are by far and away the most Handsome & Knowledgeable Rugby League Fan in England!"

I thanked him and went on my Merry way!

RIVERCAVE DWELLER OF THE YEAR 2015!

French is definitely going home. From what I got told from a first team player,he isnt settled and there was uncertainty on whether he was going to come back after lockdown but as other posters have said, he’s due a lot of credit. Too many Overseas players decide they’re going home and lose interest whereas French has still been one of our best players in every game.

Just to clarify, He has other issues of consideration back home in Australia, it has very little to do with not being settled here (Of course there will always be issues surrounding such things, and Covid hasn't helped).

There is FAR MORE than just Homesickness in French's decision making
We have to accept that he has had a difficult time personal wise over the last 4/5 months, and yet conducted himself ultra professionally and his effort and performances have maintained to a high standard.
If he does decide to go, then he will go with my best wishes as he has treated Wigan very well in the circumstances and it's not always easy to have to make these decisions

Only repeating what I've read elsewhere, don't shoot the messenger :SHOOT:

James Hooper a respected Aussie journo has claimed Lachlan Lam will be joining us for next season. If true his father will obviously be staying for another season and Hastings will be on his way.

Respected by everyone bar John Bateman :D

Tough to make a fair comment on that signing if true. In isolation I thought he looked a very handy player when he turned out for the Roosters this year and he looks the right sort sort player to make a nicely balanced partnership with Harry Smith (in everything bar maybe experience) but I’ve been pretty upfront with my opinions that Adrian Lam isn’t the man for us, so that leaves us in a difficult spot.

Lachlan may or may not be a very good player but the thought of his father being coach for another year or longer is depressing beyond belief. He may have had two difficult years but some of the performances by his teams have been dreadful.
We don't look anywhere near a finals team and Lam seems to have taken us back to the time Noble was in charge when he saved us from relegation but couldn't take us further than semi finals.
The club also need to bring about a period of change. With Lam here we are still in the shadow of the Shaun Edwards shambles. Remove Lam and bring a quality coach in and it's the new start we all need.
I know this is a rumour but please don't let it be true!

Interesting as it was only last week they were saying the reason the Roosters were letting Flannigan go was because they had decided Lam was a more viable long term option.

The average attendance at the DW over the last twenty years is higher than at Central Park over the last twenty there.

Even the last five years attendances at the DW which has seen a fall are better than the last five at Central Park.

How many of Saints and Warrington scholarship signings for next year have come from their respective towns, same for Leeds?

It's been a difficult year to judge young players, with no games.

The attendances at the DW Stadium may be better as there is hardly any chance of getting in for free like there was at Central Park. Climbing over wall at the rear of the River Caves, Children lifted over the small turnstiles, Stewards letting in people they knew via the exit doors on the river side, Season Ticket holders not counted on attendance figures and far more free tickets to schools than today. It was known for years that the attendance figures were lower than what were actually there.

Most of the signings by Leeds actually have come from the Castleford, Featherstone and Wakefield areas and quite a number of young players in Wigan prefer to sign for St Helens and Warrington for reasons other than the name of Wigan.

It has indeed been a difficult year to judge young players, even within the Warriors with some of the young players never getting a game for the club and lost to the game more than normal

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

Just as Wigan have signed two from Warrington, two from St. Helens and five from Leigh?

Harry Smith came from Widnes, Morgan Smithies form Halifax. The scouts job is to get the best players they can to the club, regardless of where they come from.
