Lets just have a look at the facts. Superleague half- backs Hastings he's top for running metres, top for tackles made, second for tries scored, second for clean breaks and third for try assists.
I think he has been great but I also think he has been trying to do too much at times and that is because others are not having the impact their job on the field dictates.
It reminds me of Barrett under Noble when the team was really struggling he would step in and totally dominate a game in everything he did. Hastings is very good but he isn’t in the same class as Trent was and we needed to give him more support especially upfront.
Sadly we haven’t and we won’t see him at his best in a Wigan shirt.
Its a huge fallacy that Wane inherited a successful team and that was why he did well. Most of the young lads in the successful team under Madge were coached through the youth ranks by Wane anyway. Then most of the overseas or bought players we had under Madge left within 1-2 seasons of Wane joining anyway. People like Leuluai, RIchards, Carmont, Gleeson, Deacon, Finch etc had all left. Wane made his own success.
With the exception of Leuluai who is still at the club, the other names say it all about what is lacking now at the club where class and experience are concerned!
Add to it, the names of Bateman, Bowen, Green, Mcllorum, Sam Tomkins, Williams.
He's a Salford lad, good luck to him just hope he gets over his injuries quickly and permanently . They're building a useful squad, for next season. Escare, Burgess, Costello, Wells etc.

They have a very strong back line but will be interesting to see what they do in the halves as Brown can’t keep going round forever.
Think they will miss Dudson who has been great for them and keeping Lussick will be crucial too.
In regard to Wells, he was one of the players I felt we had to make a decision on and we have. Despite the promise I just never felt confident he would make the breakthrough. Injuries obviously not helped but for me I’d rather focus on Pierce Paul as our developing fringe 2nd row back up now as he look capable of cementing a spot as a regular in the 17 within the next 2 seasons.
Never really felt Wells looked capable of being anything more than a backup in our squad even when fully fit.
I feel sorry for Jack Wells as when he was signed from the Folly Lane club, he looked like a outstanding back row forward for the future, but his career has been ruined by injuries and he has not made the progress as was expected.
I only hope that he overcomes his latest injury and has a better future in the game, be it at Wigan or Salford.
Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Most idiotic post ever goes to Grimmy..... The way to restart should be an arm wrestle between a designated player from each side.
Jarrod Sammut is training with you guys at Robin Park , it's on his instagram account...
There's an unusual one. I'd be surprised if they were letting him train with just to keep fit under the current circumstances. Not a position we are short in. No idea what to make of that.
