Great interview on BBC tonight. Very interesting to hear what he had to say about coping with the pressure - he said he thrived on it.
Everything Wiggins said about what he did sounded so strong psychologically. If he's coming to the DW we need to get him to talk to the players about how you deal with pressure and how you go about putting together a series of big performances.
Very interesting to hear about the transition he's made now from being someone who wasn't particularly famous in the UK before to being a massive star in the UK.
As for the comments on whether he should get a knighthood or not, knighthoods have been given to people to recognise exceptional achievement in their field for a very long time.
I don't see why achievement in sport at the level of a Wiggins, Hoy, Redgrave or a Holmes should not be recognised by a knighthood/damehood. These are people who have incredible natural talent but have also shown incredible dedication and commitment to their sport and are inspirational role models for the young and great ambassadors for this country.
