Looking at the ticket site I'd say we're above 20k with a good week to go, going to be very tough on Thursday but a win at Leigh should guarantee as close to a sell out as we can get
This is what infuriates me with some Saints and Wigan fans. I get the hatred, I get the rivalry, I don't want Wigan to win a game unless it benefits Saints or its against the Aussies but the fact is both clubs need each other and moreover SL needs them both.
Wigan fill their allocation at Saints and vice versa. Both clubs take 1000's to away games, both have a thriving Academy and Reserves structure etc.
I remember back in 2006 when Wigan flirted with relegation and whilst there would've been some Saints fans laughing had it happened, lots I know didn't want them to go down due to the state of the game without them.
I won't expand on them cheating the salary cap to stay up
re. breaking the cap, people in glass houses and all that Stu and as it's been pointed out on several occasions we apparently "broke the spirit of the cap" not the actual cap, made a new rule up just for us, once again Wigan being trailblazers

I agree and won't mention the player who when on a sponsored trip around Sydney harbour was asked why he never went over to play in the NRL replied, "I had a chairman who was very good with brown envelopes"!!

Absolutely spot on.
Some fans need to learn the difference between rivals and enemies. Wigan and Saints are the very definition of rivals & that's because of the points you put forward. There are plenty more teams who are "enemies" so to speak, of the two clubs. I'm sure there are plenty of clubs (we know who they are), who instead of seeing the current Saints side as a benchmark to try and reach, see them as a problem that need to be brought to heel.

I agree, look there will always be rivalry and banter between Wigan and Saints fans. How good would it be if Wigan were jibbing Saints fans cause their average attendances were only 15k and ours were 16k or vice versa.
At this moment in time Saints do have everything going right for them that hand on heart most (if not all) Wigan rugby fans secretly admire, some things that we can replicate ourselves of course: A winning team that is achieving success year on year. Other things that we can't unfortunately: Their own stadium in a town that doesn't have a professional football team causing petty rivalries meaning that more or less 100% of the towns population is behind the rugby team. They also have a good catchment area (Merseyside).
Both teams at the top end of the league (along with Wire, Leigh and Salford) can only be good for teams on this side of the Pennines. IL has stated this a few times over the years.
Strange the previous purchase history thing. It’s not football, were you might expect trouble, so if Wiganer, Saints fan or whoever wants to buy one, you surely sell them one? I suppose there’s a reason but it’s not easy to think of one off the top of my head.
