This thread is even more depressing than the other one!
The scary thing here (for RL not just Wigan) is that of the Wigan team that finished 3rd last year only Barrett would get into the first 13 from 2000 onwards and none would this year.
This is not just evidence of Wigan's decline, but just how much standards in the game as a whole have slumped in recent years, particularly to my mind in the last 4 or 5 years or so.
On another thread recently someone posted the Bradford GF winning side from 2005. That team looked considerably stronger to me (particularly in the forwards with Vagana, Peacock and Fielden (when he was world class)) than the current Stains and Leeds sides.
As BK and Cruncher have pointed out on the "lose the plot" thread the sport of RL is in decline and the RFL seem to do nothing about it.
