I sometimes think what the point is. I was watching on the tv and the Ref said try but wanted to check and then the Salford player DID NOT GET ANYWHERE THE BALL! he must of been a Salford fan or was short sighted

That decision said it all about the corruption - incompetence, idiocy, prejudice, call it what you want - in the 'judiciary' of our game.

Let me ask anyone unwise enough to try to defend it, do you seriously, honestly, truthfully think that ruling would have been made if the game had depended on it?

He grounds the ball. Albeit only slightly, but his hand is on the point of the ball as it touches the floor. You don't need "downward pressure" anymore.

They scored two lucky tries at the end, fair play to them for going until the end.

I thought he missed it at first but on second look saw a deviation on the ball to suggest he had grounded it. Close call & im glad the game didn’t depend on it.

By the look on Kallum Watkins' face, he thought he'd missed it completely. And so did I.

So if the ref had sent it up as "no try" do think the video ref would have overturned it?

What i don't get is...

My mobile phone can take a picture of someone and i can pretty much count the number of hair folicles on their face but the Super League are using cameras from the 80's seemingly. 'Super Zoom' wooooow, Let's zoom in on an image that is blurred, that'l help. Can they not just give Samsung a ring? Problem solved. How can you grow a sport or attract new audiences when the top brass can't get the small things right.

No probably not, but the rules as they are (I don't agree with them) go off the referee's gut instinct if it can't be proved otherwise.

Money, isn't it? The difference between the camera shots available to the bunker in the NRL, and what goes on in SL, is night and day.
