Whitehaven : Wed Aug 24, 2022 9:23 pm
I fancy us for this one after they turned us over earlier in the season in one of the worst, if not the worst, games to grace this season. The damage caused by that game to our much vaunted 3 year plan on attendance growth suggests senior management will have made this a must win game .. Haven may have other ideas of course. (Memo to management: suggest blame failure to meet attendance growth targets on unexpectedly (?) shxx performance in 2nd home game driving away all new supporters. Make Coleman and ex Skolars players the fall guy. It was all going so well until then attendance wise...)

Yeah we were awful at home to Haven but we've never had it easy at their place either. I'll be there on Sunday but still have bad memories of the 2nd half horror show up there last year. The stats don't look good as its now 135 minutes since we scored against them and 4 years since we've won in Cumbria.

London by 3 scores, but I'd argue a far more important game for the club is happening a day earlier in Wales.

Not to be. But the men could put one over on the Cumbrians tomorrow if they travel well - they should be used to it.

Good luck and a handclap for any travelling fans - long day!

Oh FFS London, play with some pride. Haven were nothing special but they didn't need to be as we were so poor. Decent turn out of away fans not rewarded by the performance. Only saving grace is that's the last away game of the season. Have we over achieved in the last few months or just on the beach today?

Bit sub-par that. Poor first half and couldn’t close the gap in the second. Couple of scores at the end as well to add to the misery. So there we are then 2 more home games against a team that’s too good for this league and a surprisingly good Barrow. Season may well fizzle out but at least Eccles got them playing some reasonable stuff and avoided us being an embarrassment which, frankly we were in the opening months of this season. Really important off season. Wonder what we’ll do. Probably sit on our hands. Sigh!

Whitehaven have a couple of good players but it’s far from ideal to lose both games to them. Looking at the run in it wouldn’t be a massive surprise if they leap frog us in the table...which is disappointing
