Dan Hoyes is 18. At the start of the month he was playing for Hemel RU in Herts u18 RU County Cup Final. A talented lad, I hope he goes well.

I read on the Broncos website that, "Last time Broncos took to the field against York, it was a closely fought encounter. Despite York claiming the victory, Broncos represented a tough challenge for them".
Funny if I remember right, we were 30-6 down at one point and only got a few more points as they tired. In truth we were rubbish on that day. We had a much better team then too.

Actually I think you may be misremembering. Understandable as all these dispiriting losses meld into one but in fact we only lost by 2 points. Having said that your basic point is right we were never in the game and never looked like winning. Now 2021 York were one of the few teams we spanked them at home although they beat us comfortably on the last day of the season ensure we didn’t get into the Playoffs.

Very good first half for such a young side. Selfishly Dewsbury haven’t read the script.

Re: York away : Sun Jun 05, 2022 3:01 pm
I am expecting the usual second half collapse, where we leak 5 tries in 20 minutes, and do not score again until the game is decided, if at all, but at least we are not fielding many of the ex-Skolars players this time out. If Hoyes has scored a try he must be about level for the season on tries with Latu, who I can't remember seeing score apart from at Barrow. York were 1/100 on with Bet365 and for a reason. If we upset the odds, it looks like the Rams have beaten Whitehaven, so that would shrink the gap on the teams above to just one point. A 3 point gap looks insurmountable at this point, given that the strength and conditioning coach is the manager and the poverty of players to choose from.
