DONKEYS V GREYHOUNDS : Thu Jun 17, 2010 10:20 pm
Thats what the current Leyth team looks like Donkeys no pace no idea
someone posted earlier this week that this team is the best we,ve had in years
no chance the team with Turley, Martyn Grix Rowley ect ect would have hammered this lot by 50+...........
Going to Blackpool a few of them might get a job on the Beach being lead along with the odd kid on their backs :USTUPID:
WELL DONE BATLEY

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Its all about the will to win the effort you put into a game Batley had it tonite Leyth looked clueless and lacked passion they played the game at snails pace
with tactics even a average div 1 side could read , god im mad after another massive let down :DEPRESSED:

Every team we have played this season seem to have a couple of speedy backs
even Keighley scored a scorcher against us , this team will struggle from now on all the other teams know how to play against a team lackin pace, the Leigh team play the game at snails pace every aspect of their play is dire recently tonite with the ball we had we should have scored 30 at least but every time the wrong optitions were taken several times we had overlaps but thick play from players lost the chance to score........

Body language also worried me. At half-time it was 8-4 to Batley, but looking at our lads, you would have thought it was 38-4.
Then came out all guns blazing in second half, Riddy threw that pass into touch and it looked like the game was up, with 35 mins left to play, and only a converted try away from the lead!
Was it just me who felt like this?
I wonder if our lack of pace isn't a bit soul-destroying for the players as well as us. We were camped on their line for most of the first half with only one try to show for it. Not only can we not make a break, but can't catch the opposition if they do! Wish we had the threat of a Leroy or someone, as the opposing sides are now very comfortable with our tactics.
With this crop of players, would different tactics change anything?
ps where have our dummy runners gone?!

A few times last nite players put themselves in great postions to score ie Higson, MaGraff L
but the wrong options where taken and if those players had got the ball in my opinion would have scored.. What really bothers me this season is our total lack of vision last nite at least half a dozen times we had massive overlaps on our left side when we where attacking the oppo line what do we do............. MOVE THE BALL TO THE RIGHT !!!! HOW BARMY IS THAT !!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree with that and when they did decide to go left with a kick they already had a man to defuse the kick ,it annoyed the hell out of me too and others sat with me .

same here! kick was always the same , read it like a book !

what we are good at is getting the ball back from kick off, seen this 8 or 9 times in a few games , pity we couldnt use the ball to create something

Re: DONKEYS V GREYHOUNDS : Sat Jun 19, 2010 1:15 pm
What about the Dual players I would think they are on good saleries ,so who pays for them? Is there wages shared by the 2 clubs while they play for you or what? I would think it`s a win ,win situation for the Super League clubs if the payment is shared. I heard they were not counted on the salary cap and if this is correct is it for both of the teams, also is the the bulk of the wages for them paid by you when they are playing for you. anybody know?
