Looking at the squad lists that came out for Championship, IIRC Leigh have the 2nd smallest squad (in numbers) to London & London hotly tipped to be bottom feeders !
I think our squad is only 19/20 strong & if we do have Visa issues & those antipodeans don't make it here in time then Leigh could be starting with less than 17 to chose from come the opening League game !

I think this is the state of play of the squad signed for 2022.
Currently we have 21 signed - of which only 18 are in the UK training at the moment.
We have 12 backs and 9 forwards - although there are a few players such as Wardle, Stone & Hingano who can switch between the forwards & backs.
Of the backs - I think 6 list their main position as winger, but we only have 2 recognised centres and 3 halves.
We certainly have a severe lack of forwards - In a 17 man match day squad there are usually 10 forwards - currently we have 9 in the whole squad - only 7 in the UK.
Our friendly against Saints is 16 days away, our first championship match only 24 days away and Featherstone away 32 days away.
To me this does not seem to be very good planning / preparation for the forthcoming season. Has something gone wrong?

We have had a few ex-players come out recently and talk about an unprofessional environment at Leigh over the last couple of seasons, coupled with all last years directors leaving, the state of the quality of content coming out of the club, next to no call to action about buying season tickets and getting behind the club and the poor preparation we suffer every year with with squad there is certainly a pattern emerging.

Looks like the days of huge opening day attendances against Fev & Bradford are long gone, along with any excitement for the new season.

We are tipped to finish top 2 and with a few more to signings to give us a bit more depth that is a strong championship squad. As always the fans can play their part. Never a dull moment supporting the Centurions.

Some folk on here are similar to Rumplestiltskin they delight in being negative and love having a pop at the Club and Derek , maybe they have personal issues , of which don’t concern me , I’m only interested in the Centurions , Derek is a very shrewd man and a very good businessman , he has brought in quality to lead us , and I feel he won’t let us down , let’s wait and see.

A glass is always at least half full and the answer to “want another” is always yes when its ⅔ full. Never let a mate get ⅔ empty.
Chester and Lam are not new at this game. They will have us ready with the right players when it counts.
