Taken from Chairman Keith Freer's statement last month The meeting that we had with Blake Solly of the RFL was very positive. Blake Solly now understands the unique working relationship that we have with LSV. If there is a mini franchise bid for the season 2013-2014 for Super League then we would certainly expect to be a primary candidate for that slot. Obviously there will be a high degree of pressure from Halifax. Obviously Featherstone will be banging on the drums but their ground facilities will certainly weaken their bid. http://www.leighcenturions.com/news/48

I personally don't think the ground will sway anything in a franchise run.

Don't think they'll let fevs ground in sl as it stands,everything is against them at the moment ,not enough covered seating? ,capacity to small,sloping pitch,plus wakey and cas already being there.

Same here Homer and the call for a 12 team SL makes the process even more futile. The calls from the pundits on GMR were saying that Bradfort should be in C1 next year and the club at the bottom of SL come the end of the 2014 season should drop to the Championship. This is coming about because Mr McMannus ( if that is how you spell it) has started the "SL cannot support a 14 team league" campaign rolling. Only from pure greed that is. I say reduce the payments to SL clubs from next year and tell them to stop employing bloody overseas players.

We're an ambitious club and personally I think we'd be silly not to apply. As far as I know it won't cost a penny to submit a bid (unlike last time when it cost us thousands).

Seems Sheffield aren't gonna play that silly game and have annouced they wont be playing along.

Yesterdays annoucement by Mr Khan of his investment of 6 million into Odsal over next 3 years will make things a little easier for the RFL to make up their minds, that'll be why hes annouced it no doubt.

Wonder whether we should bother really as its a farce,or all issue a joint statement saying it will not be judged fairly and for that reason no one in the Championship will apply.
