I am a staunch Leigh fan, however, if my lad was playing and there is a clash I would always go and watch him. Luckily (or unluckily in yesterdays instance) this does not really happen at the moment in the NWC Under 14's.

Rugby League is folklore. What captures our imagination is not simply the winning or the losing, it's the stories. The stories of perseverance, of sheer will, of hard work, of heartbreak, of miracles, and of triumph and tragedy.

Defensively we were poor, very poor, especially on our right wing, Batley quite rightly concentrated on this wing.
Also we need someone on the pitch who can count...how many tries did we conceed on the last tackle?
As has already been said, the forwards just couldnt seem to make any headway. The halfbacks seemed devoid of ideas, kicking game was woeful.
Batley deserved their victory, and the score flattered us. If we had snatched a draw at the death, Batley would have been robbed.
We need to improve and quickly.

everyone forgets we are still a very young team, and days like sunday will happen, i was very close to the lads as they walked off at fulltime, and everyone of them felt that defeat i can tell you.

I agree with frank in as much that Donlan has to be at full back.

I don't think he ever looks comfortable at centre, and has a tendency to over run the ball in attacking the line. Doesn't seem to read play as well as when given the chance to float around at the back.

On top of that his positional play when fielding kicks and ball return at FB is far superior to mort ( at the moment).

Mort has looked ok on the wing, so why not leave him there, then if we get the ascendency in a game switch him to full back in defence to get more experience.

I feel a bit sorry for our half backs as I don't think that they have played with the same back five all season, so we lose a bit of consistency for running lines.

Reay hasn't really done much wrong when he has played so seemed a bit strange to drop him, probably to play Alstead I guess.

In all I just think that the team thought they were going to win by a good forty points before a ball was kicked. Batley came with the right attitude and played us off the park for 60 mins. Sometimes it just happens. Cas surprised a lot of top tems in SL last year. They still finished bottom, and the teams they beat finished at the top.

One defeat doesn't make a bad team.
