| Interesting that the bookies have dramatically cut our player odds
Gidley 6/1 from 25/1
Ben currie 12/1 from 33/1
Sandow 12/1 from 25/1
Hill 14/1 from 33/1
Clarke 16/1 from 33/1
Long way to go I know, when was the last time a player from the wire got a man of steel award?? And did anyone have a bet a start of this year and who on?

| Hovering around the 200/1 mark for the treble pre-season. Sky bet now have us at 16/1 to do it. Ridiculously short mind.

| We've only ever had two Men of Steel:
Ken Kelly in 1981 and Jonathan Davies in 1994 (he was obviously the last one, to answer your question)

| I wondered if anyone else had spotted this. In case it isn't clear from the first post Gidley is now the favourite, at least with the bookies I saw. We are also up to second for winning the Grand Final.
(I don't even gamble, I just like looking at the odds as a way of seeing what everyone else thinks of us!)

It's more a judgement on the lack of progress from the top sides than a reflection on Warrington. Saints are a shambles, Leeds have lost two all-time greats and the soul of their side, so it's you v Wigan for the trophies unless Hull can kick on dramatically from last season. I'd say the odds now are about right, it's silly that you were so long odds before the season started.

| Long way to go yet, but Kevin Brown was unplayable last week, Leeds were bad, but were enbarressed by him all game, if Widnes do make a fist of it this year and make the 8, I would expect to see his name banded around.
From the highlights Gale looks like he picked up where he left off and is an early season chance, as does McIllorum who is dragging Wigan along at the minute.
From a Warrington viewpoint, Hill or Gidley are the front runners from our group in the public eye, but I think Sandow will have the most impact of how our season goes... One way or another!

| Gidley has a real chance of winning it... He will be a big point scorer and will be right at the top of the tackle list.

He's 12/1 with BetFred.
Gidley is 14/1 for MOS too.

| I had a £5 flutter on Kurt Gidley at 25/1 pre season.
I also had £5 on us to come top of the pile after 23 rounds and also to win the GF.

| I have got a tenner on Gidley at 21_1.
15 on New Zealand Warriors at 10-1
And a fiver on Anthony Milford. for daly M at 17-1
Avoid those bets because they are guaranteed to be miles off.
