Manchester Magic Weekend, ticket info' : Tue Mar 27, 2012 9:28 am
Just saw this on the City OS this morning:
http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Club-news/2012/January/Magic-weekend-tickets-available-now

It says; "Tickets for the Magic Weekend are now available for supporters to purchase at the stadium."

I've never been to a Magic Weekend, neither at Cardiff nor Edinburgh, before but will definitely be going to this in May. Looking forward to it already. Hopefully with it being bang in the middle of the RL communities of the North it will attract proper crowds over the whole weekend. I reckon i'll go for a day pass and watch our game v Widnes as well as the Hull derby.

I see it says "unreserved seating available". I take it my best bet would be to purchase from Wire to be in with our lot? Or does anyone know of anywhere else that is selling tickets for this where i can choose where i sit?

Looking to take a number of mates to this who haven't really watched RL much before. I'm forever banging on about RL all the time to them. It's hard talking to footy fans who have never really been exposed to RL before (it's not in our local media much in Manchester). Salford CR are relatively un-supported across Mcr too and they don't do a lot to make themselves known. They could be huge but don't seem to want to put the effort in to branch out across the whole connurbation to gain support. I work at a school in Wythenshawe and when i talk about RL to the kids and they ask me who i support (Wire) and they ask who the neartest club is to us in Wythenshawe and i say Salford most of our kids have never heard of the City Reds before.

Anyway, i was going off topic there. So anyone who can suggest some sites to but specifically seated tickets for Magic will be a big help.

I'm sure it will be a bigger crowd this year but I didn't realise the RFL were Salford's PR machine now? They should promote themselves not have everyone else do the work for them. I'm sure when this whole concept started it was all about expansion, now it's just about the extra wonga.

As for the ticket question, as far as I know if you buy from the club, you'll be sat with our fans. Although if you just bought unreserved tickets you could probably just come and sit in our end.

No, it was supposed to be all about Cardiff looking to make use of their stadium to replace the loss of the moneyspinners they used to get when Wembley was out of use. After the first one, other cities allegedly showed an interest in the income fans bring through hotels, food and beer sales. Murrayfield promised to do more than Cardiff had to encourage local ticket sales.

The reality was both struggled to get the numbers in (largely because a hard to please RL fanbase mostly like to moan about things than give them a chance). I went to all 4 weekends in Wales and Scotland and thought they were really good - they could have been fantastic if better supported.

Warrington's Magic info is here:
http://www.warringtonwolves.org/its-tim ... magic-5141

and the RFL's info is here:

Stadium plan from above link:

So if you want reserved seating in Warrington's allocation, best buying from Warrington.

I have an exam on the Monday so can't make it, but would be hesitant to buy reserved seating. If you have an annoying so and so or a know it all shouting forward and offside constantly in front of you it is going to be a very long weekend!

When I went in for a ticket I asked about reserved. The lady said that our section is section 222. She said fans always shift after their game so if you want better seats with our fans best to get unreserved and get some seats after or during the first game.
The stadium plan lead me to think that reserved was anywhere red which if buying tickets from Warrington isn't.

They have that stadium plan on the counter in the club shop. As stated previously, our present reserved seating section is just one block. However, virtually the whole of the lower tier will be available for unreserved tickets.

I was told that once in, you could sit anywhere in the lower tier. Not sure how that would work with the Hull derby on the same day. I would imagine they would want to keep them apart.

All Magic weekends have been unreserved seating downstairs. Fans get in, select an area and then others join - opposition fans have tended to stay separate

Has worked just fine for the past 5 years

Get a ticket, get in and enjoy !! Be a Wire fan for a day - live the dream !!!

Think I'm just going to go on the Saturday, £22.50 for both me and the lad is a bargain (Although may change my mind as it would only be another £11 to watch the scum v scum the next day). Not going to watch the Cas game, as it would be too long a day for my 7 year old. But will stay for the Hull derby, looking forward to it. Well done to the RFL, time will tell, but I think they've got this about right.
