| I know it's supposed to be Stobart but all the stadiums have still got engage post protectors and advertising so two questions really are Engage still paying for the advertising space and when do Stobart take over ? Just curious ! Seems a pretty poor effort really !

| Been up and down the M6 today saw loads of Stobart Lorries.....bog standard livery on them all, and not a Superleague advert in sight.
The post pads are a bit of a joke.
Why should the poor clubs stump up a few hundred quid for new pads that dont have engage on, or go hunting for their own sponsor to fund them?
If the deal is so good the RFL should have paid for pads for every superleague club and had them delivered before round one.
It may only be a set of pads but it just gives us the impression the game is run by professionals.

Perhaps the RFL are currently concluding a sponsorship deal relating specifically to the post pads (like Canberra use to have with the Aus Milk Board).
Under the Stobart deal they have the ability to do this which, as shown by the recent deals with Lucozade and Heinz, allows for sponsorship money to be generated by bolt-on "partners". The alternative deal with Betfair prohibited all such revenue generating deals.
Until the deal with Stobart was chosen in preference to Betfair then the RFL could not conclude any subsequent deals so it is un-realistic to expect a full set of sponsored emblazened post protectors to be rolled-out overnight.
Give the RFL a chance. When they announced the deal with Stobart allowing the bringing in of additional partners this was mocked by those who knew better - I have yet to see any of these people sing the praises of the cash generating deals with Lucozade and Heinz. It would appear their attention is too employed by the rogue Engage post protectors.
As for the O/P - after starting multiple threads about how the extensions were never going to be ready nice to see him change his attention to another worthwhile topic. Keeps him away from saying Bridge will never be a centre.

| Going back to my original post WHY are the engage advertising boards and post protectors still up are we gaining a revenue for it ? If not why don't we sell the advertising space on the post pads to a local or even international company !

All this is well and good but surely it's poor planning/negotiating not to have any post pad deal in place by Round 3 of the the season?! The Engage logo's should just be covered up as they are getting exposure they are not paying for. They must be delighted.
The jury is out on the Stobart sponsorship surely. I drive the UK's networks most day with my job and I've seen 3 of the SL trucks so far.

| I've watched five games this season (one live, four on TV) and not once have I paid attention to what was written on the post protectors. I actually keep meaning to look, but because I like watching rugby I always seem to forget.
I suggest people pay more attention to, say, the running lines of outside backs and second rowers, defensive structure and ball movement. It might improve the quality of discussion on here and, who knows, you may find it more exciting than looking at the post protectors.

| I'm with you JB, i honestly think if no one had mentioned it i would have gone the whole season without noticing, saying that, like you, i keep meaning to have a look but forget every time.

| Ditto.
Also - does anyone know for certain if engage isn't still paying to have its name on the protectors?

| I'm sure I read somewhere that Engage still have some involvement somewhere, just can't remember what it is.

Maybe some people do both?

You can't be that surprised, surely? The back seat of a blacked-out, chauffeur driven Maybach is hardly the greatest vantage point.
