Coach v Players : Fri Feb 20, 2009 3:49 pm  

Looking at the viewing figures for our video interviews Jimmy normally gets five times more fans watching than the player ones. Now I know nearly everyone wants to hear what the coach has to say - but I am surprised so many of you are uninterested in hearing what the players have got to say. If it wasn't for the fact that they are both done at the same time it would hardly be worth doing player interviews alone. I would be interested to hear feedback on why most of you are uninterested in player interviews, which are sometimes more revealing! Don't think it's a matter of disinterest, Gary, moreover when I pop on there it just depends who the latest interview happens to be with. I'll watch whatever is there, no preference from players or coach.

Admittedly, I won't watch an interview that has taken place prior to the last actual match, as I consider it irrelevant eg: Riley's interview I haven't watched though I see it's on your site - as it was done previous to the Saints match it's unlikely I'll bother watching it now.

Anyhoo, that's just me.

Its because Jimmy is the main man. He is the one in charge of the team while the players are one of 17 cogs working together.

Perhaps everyone is watching for Jimmy to make a slip up so they can have a three page thread on here on how it is proof he isn't upto the job and projects an unprofessional image.

OR, people have to watch it twice as his Leeds accent is a) pleasant to their ears or b) difficult to understand.

While any aspect of the interview relating to a match may be irrelevant we do talk about more than just the game!

Don't spit your dummy out Gary, you asked and I responded. I'm just saying that's how I approach the site fella - there may well be other stuff discussed, I don't doubt it for a moment, but it's old news to me if it's not current. I wouldn't read last weeks newspaper either.
