Don't you think he knows that and he knows what the problems are? Yes we should forget last season or if people can't, then don't just look at the matches we lost at the end of the season, look at the matches we won under Jimmy too then you can have a fair comparison. Not one person who has been on here quoting the last few matches lost in super league have mentioned any positive aspects of the matches we won under Jimmy. And if we had been beaten by the odd few points, the criticism would still be there as it always has been.
How much infleunce did he have at that point? It was still firmly Cullens team and he had that 'honeymoon' period all new coaches seem to get from their players.
The relationship between him and the dressing room is now either in RELATE or firmly in the divorce court.
And the relationship between the terraces and Lowes is even worse.
i thought the defence in first 50 against saints was phenomenal so that has improved, saints weren't firing on all cylinders but i'll have it that it was our organisation in defence that was stopping them
Oh, I did too, and then we hit the wall after 50 mins, as we did against Catalans, as we did against Hull KR. Maybe he needs to speak to his friend Mr Halmshaw and let him know that right now, he's doing him any favours by preparing a side that only has 50 mins in the tank, because the stats are not starting to make good reading.
Saints (A) - Warrington 14-0 after 51 mins. FT : 26-14. (26 Unanswered points in 29 mins. 38 available points with kicks.)
Catalans (H) - Warrington 18-6 up after 39 mins, 18-12 at HT. 18-12 after 45 mins, then FT : 20-40. (28 points in 35 mins, 10 of which spent with 12 men)
Hull KR friendly, was it 18-12 at HT ? Can't remember. 20 odd points conceded in the second half.
If it isn't the structures, it's the fitness. So somebody is accountable surely.
"Remember last time they were here, the Huddersfield Giants, they lost to a Luke Walsh drop goal. He's only scored four drop goals in his St Helens career has Luke Walsh and each and every one of them have been scored by Luke Walsh"
Did anyone else pick up on that comment where he said something along the lines of "every player is behind me and understands where i want to go, well almost everyone anyway".
I noticed that too, surprised it hasn't been mentioned before!

Just on the fitness issue, if you ask any of the players they say they have had a real tough pre-season and they are still being flogged in training. Do you think this could be the problem, they are doing that much training in the week, they run out of gas during the actual game, or am I clutching at straws here..

Maybe.
I have to say, after the tame capitulation last season, and the way that the season just fizzled out (Hull KR at home, Castleford away primarily), I quite liked the idea of them having a grueling preseason, so I can't really backtrack on that now. I thought the idea of a few of them getting a wake up call and flogged a bit was what they needed.
I wouldn't want to see them flogged now though, except King.
Well ive heard that Jimmy has lost at least one part of the dressing room.
It seems that we have a group of players all pulling in different directions.
We all know in team sports it is essential that all parties pull in the same direction to get a shot at success. If Jimmy cant sort it out and fast then he needs to go.
If certain individuals are not willing to back jimmy and what he wants to do then they should be frozen out. But will Jimmy have the gonads to freeze them out.
I would rather have half a team of younger players who want to play and are willing to give it their all rather than half a team of passengers who are sulking for one reason or another.
I keep harping back to David Moyes but if an Everton player starts going against the grain they are frozen out until they are ready to toe the line or they find themselves a new club. No messing about and its a zero tolerance policy. Maybe Jimmy needs to have a word with Moyes about how to instill discipline and team ethics.

Rumours this happened to PC also. Been reading Mike Gregs book again and I can't help but think what would have happened to the players if they did this under Mal Reilly.
good point i think there is a general lack of discipline within rl, even the disciplinarians amongst rl coaching ranks don't seem anywhere near as strict as in football
and some of the stories i've heard about the discipline from the more relaxed coaches are hilarious, especially relating to andy gregory...i guess because we are not in media spotlight as much as football people can get away with it

Anyone who has taken part in sports training at whatever level knows that the training cycle involves a period of building the training up to very tough levels and then maintaining those levels untill you are ready to taper it down ready for competition.
Its quite plausible that the wolves are still training tough and will only taper for the second half of the season ie, the business end. Its still possible to achieve results and a certain level of performance when you are training tough but maybe its a bit too tough at this point in the season. The players may well be leaving their performances on the training paddock or in the gym, which from personal experience, is very frustrating.
