World Cup Winning Half Back on the market : Tue May 19, 2009 7:57 am
New Zealand Test star Nathan Fien has been told by the NZ Warriors to look for another NRL club for next season and beyond.

http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,865 ... public_rss

Should Wire be interested in him to replace Monaghan and Briers, or should we be setting our sights higher?

Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

Unlike hookers turned halfback like Sullivan and Monaghan, this guy Fein has a top kicking game as seen in the World Cup Final when he kicked the Aussies to death. He is more than capable at half back and hooker too.

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

Wigan are definitely interested in him. As you say he has a superb kicking / distributing game.

With Fein I would say don't judge a book by its cover, he cant genuinely play both positions well.

Unlike Monaghan and Sullivan who made their names as hookers and were signed by Cullen to play half back, I think this guy would be more than capable of directing Wire around the park.

Saying that I would prefer it if we signed Richard Myler as a long term prospect.

Monas didn't make his name as a hooker.

I would sign Myler and another more experienced half back.

I kinda wish monaghan would step up to the mark and do a job for the next couple of years until Myler was 100% ready.

His decision making doesn't seem up to it. Unbelievably given his last couple of years in the NRL.
