It's a difficult decision to be made by anyone at the minute. Keep Powell and hope all is well next year? Sack Powell and then what?
I have to agree that i'm running out of patience with him and we're not seeing any improvement in the team. If it wasn't his first season, our performances would have most definately got him sacked by now.
What i look at is teams like Leeds & Wigan. Leeds had a shocking first part of the season but they made the change and brought in a new coach. Ok, they're not setting the world alight, but with the same squad they are kinda going in the right direction, whereas we are not. They have just beat Catalan 36-32 after being 30-6 down. Our team would never be able to turn around such a deficit. Wigan, who granted have had Field and French back in the side after missing much of last season is more or less the same team as last year too. They were absolutely turgid at the back end of the season but a fresh coaching set up has turned them around and i would expect them to be at Old Trafford this year. Why has Powell not done this with us? Is it because he is a crap coach? If we sacked him now we would never know what he could do with our squad next year after giving him time. But i think patience is running out. If we don't get another win this season, there is a serious threat that Toulous will beat us, and could turn over Hull KR. Level on points, what if they beat Hull FC who are up and down like a yoyo themselves. We'd be finished.
