See the NRL is such a strange competition, a side like Penrith who are only average in my opinion, could go out and spend massive on someone like Campese, sign a few other players to go with and they'd be suddenly challenging at the top. For example, the Bulldogs have already won as many games this season as they did for the whole of last season. Admittedly they had a few problems last year, but just look at Manly this year. It seems that one or two years of planning over there and the sides are challenging, I haven't kept up too much on the NRL of late, but if I was Campese I'd be looking at moving to a better club in the future, or at least a club who are willing to build a side around him and go for Championships. I'm not sure if Penrith or Canberra can offer him that, but it should be interesting to see if he moves, he's awesome.
