Defensively, The Axe is about 172,000% better than he was pre Smith. There is not one person on our team that an opposition team can target. Our halfbacks tackle with the best of them, our wingers and centre are all internationals.

Had to laugh when JJB tried to target him at Headingley couple of months back. Both times Briersy stuck him on his 'arris. Briers not only can defend now he seems eager for it. Doesn't hang back anymore and moves up with the defensive line. If he wasn't booting it downfield on tackle 6 I'm sure he would be leading the kick chase. The TS effect seems to have worked better for him than anyone else. Oh yes and two cup winners medals and a Lance Todd. Harry Sunderland come October?
