Theres an aussie radio station called Triple M where they have podcasts on their website you can download to listen to the NRL discussion show with Gus Gould, I was listening to this a couple of weeks ago when he was talking about the Sharks, he reckoned Seymour was their most important player, said that they were making a mistake if they'd signed Barrett as a playmaker and he argued this had held the Dragons back when Barrett was there, because hes a good footballer running off a playmaker rather than a creative playmaker himself. Gus said that the Sharks were a very structured team who relied on set plays, and the one who had some ad-lib in him and could spark them was Seymour....sounds like he rated him highly.
Then again, Gus was always critical of Matt Orford in comparison to Monaghan, reckoned Manly (and NSW) should have had Monaghan as first choice halfback.
