And before anyone laughs at 'Lineham' and 'speed' in the same sentence, I ask you to cast your memory back the end of 2016. Lineham's pace to chase a breakaway opposition player was invaluable. He did it in the LLS clincher against hull and also in the GF a few times. The lad has serious pace but with atkins inside him he was never going to be able to show that.
I was surprised to see how good Lineham’s stats are overall. On paper he’s worth every penny of his fee... it’s just that in 2016 he got dropped allegedly for attitude, and in 2017 he only stood out when the team was on a losing streak (seems to play better when angry and desperate to score).
The thing that miffed me about Lineham was his commitment at the end of last season. He just looked uninterested in the 8s and got waltzed past and brushed off by lower division players. Shaun Wane wouldn’t be having that and nether am I...
Fresh start though, and he’ll be wanting to prove to Steve Price that he has a future as a highly paid player at Warrington. No way will he command a top salary at another club based on his Warrington showings, but if he can rediscover his dream team 2015 form he’ll be great outside Goodwin and also from Roberts’ 30 metre cruise missile passes.
