Maybe he needs to go on loan for a full year at a team that will play him @ FB - Widnes maybe?

This is exactly why last week I was calling for Riley at fullback and Bridge at 13. He had a great game, I felt comfortable every time he was called into action. Well played. He's got a nice bit of sunburn though, being a ginger has not helped him one little bit

On a side note please don't let Mitch anywhere back near the team. He's toilet - 2/3 knock-ons, 5/6 missed tackles (1 of which would have caused a try had Atkins not held up I think Baile) and 1 try which he bombed where he'd been put in a massive hole by I think Myler. Personally I'd rather play Tyke out of the 2.

I don't get it with some Warrington fans at times.

I looked at this forum last week and saw a few people saying they have no confidence in him. (or words to that effect) Yet I'm struggling to think of times he has let us down or made a series on consistent mistakes.

He's got more to his game than just being fast. He can read plays and link up well from full back.

I think some people are unable to look past the fact that he's not a 6 foot Aussie.

Things I learned on 11/08/12

Gareth Hock can't pass
Gareth Hock can't run
Gareth Hock can't fight

I'm assured he can snort a line of coke the size of a Mecca dauber though.

I don't think that ios the reason. I think a lot of people, and to a certain extent myself, cite his over running of the centre on the wing and his defensive frauilties sometimes as reasons why he may induce a hint of apprehension.

I personally like the guy. Good attitude and plays well. I can just see where some people are coming from.

In his own words when i had a chat with him a couple of weeks ago, he is only 23. Its just he has been around for such a long time. Still plenty of good Wire years in young Chris and for someone who has not played 1st team for a few weeks he looked like he had never been away. His attitude is first class, he does not sulk, he just gets on with it. I'm sure he is a coaches dream. His time will come again i am sure of that

Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

One thing that really impressed me from the highlights, was his marshalling of the line defence. Looked like a veteran in that respect.

I noticed that too.

I know that SEB has said on here before that fullback was his position in junior days at Woolston, obviously in SL we've largely seen him on the wing but perhaps TS doesn't see that as his position anymore for whatever reason. This season he was sent to Quins (to play fullback), when he plays for the 20's he plays fullback and he's come into the first team and looked very comfortable in that position, probably through getting more gametime there away from the first team.

Maybe now Williams is seen more as the 'back up' winger, and Riley fullback. It seems when we have to re-rig the backline, we bring Blythe in these days as oppose to shifting King to the right.

He hasn't let us but he was shocking at fullback for Quins that is way I was worried.

Don't see any wrong in that.

Also don't forget his age too, given that we have got a generally ageing squad, players who are early 20s and have lots of SL experience are important. I would say with King leaving Riley becomes important, he could take King's place on the wing with Atkins, Bridge and Ratchford as the centres.
