And i'll be fecked if i'm sucking up to Wigans achievments of recent years. they've possibly been a bigger laughing stock than us in very recent History due to their previous standing in the game.

I'm sure fans of a club that had won every major honour in the game barring the current league title in its superleague form and the recently taken semi seriously world club challenge would quite rightly be proud of that achievement...?????
add in the fact we are the only club to have continuously played top flight rugby chuck in Bevan, the Odsal record Crowd cup final, Mike Gregory etc etc and we have a very nice history thank you very much....

we could be like Hull and have a recent Challenge cup win but then we could have merged with another team and been in the lower leagues and you can shove that right up where it doesnt belong ....i'm happy with being a Wire fan ...

I don't look to other clubs to gauge how much I should enjoy being a Warrington fan

some of you should try it.....

I think you'll find Wigan won a lot of trophies prior to the 80's and 90's.

She wore a yellow ribbon on a merry August day....

Incidentally When I met Mrs le Forge (a Wigan fan), one of her songs was she wore a Cherry Ribbon!!

Wigan... the Manu of RL- no songs of their own so stoop to singing someone elses ( eg Blaydon Races)

So did Warrington...in fact we won all our trophies prior to the 90's

but it doesnt stop jerkwads from the Wigan board rolling out the *"Wire have got no History" thing in some vain attempt to have a pop at Simon Moran trying to buy future success while at the same time reassuring yourselves that you used to be quite good.....

Union is played by people who close airports after a bit of snow, League is played by people who would go and have a snowball fight with a 747

Most of those aren't old enough, or intelligent enough to realise who they played in a lot of the finals in the 80's and 90's.

I agree we have a fine history - I'm a Wire fan afterall. It's just that I can recognise teams who have achieved more both historically and recently.

Whichever way you want to cut it, Wigan are the most famous club in English RL. Just as Manchester United are the most famous football club.
