It is typical of many RL supporters to dismiss anything lower than the top division, a fact I find rather depressing and incredibly disrespectful to players of the game at all levels.

im not 'dismissing' them i actually feel for those guys who are not given a fair crack of the whip because of what i perceive as an unfair franchaise system (even if it does rescue us this season)

Winners should be rewarded accordingly

god im on a roll tonight with misinterpretation

If the players are good enough and want to play SL, they'll get a SL contract.

i find that statement more insulting

What if they don't want to play for those teams in the SL. what if they wanted to play for a team they stood on the terraces as a kid watching then went through the youth teams and finally into the full squad. Only to be told that it's the end of the line unless you leave

i find that very sad

Yes, it is a shame that we won't be in Super League for another 3 years.

But having watch tonights game, I don't mind, for me, it was Super League standard and the fact that we won't get promoted did not cross my mind once!

Widnes fans were already getting on Cullen's back!

In that case it was always futile, unless you were Leigh, Widnes or someone who had just been relegated from Super League.

Hunslet won it and so did Dewsbury and both were kept down.

The rules have changed, them days are long gone, however it stills doesn't guarantee a franchise it is just a tick in the 'box'.
