Fair enough, off loading a vast number of the squad would indeed be a bit silly.
However, I think the time has come for Tony Smith to drag EVERY member of the squad into his office individually, and for him to ask each of them the simple question...
'DO YOU STILL WANT TO BE AT THIS CLUB NEXT SEASON?'
Any no's (Gleeson, Monaghan, probably King) should be immediately dropped from the side, and placed on the transfer list and replaced with youngsters.
All those wishing to stay should be closely monitored, and not given an affirmative answer to their future at the club until the very LAST game of this season.
I don't agree with that at all. The three players mentioned are three of our most talented (and probably three of the highest earners).
Smith's job, in the first instance, should be to get the best out of them THIS season - I'm sick of hearing about next year all the time. If they want to bugger off next year, then fine, but for now their wages are paid by Warrington, and they should start damn well earning them.

But if a player doesn't want to play for the club then can you really make them? Can you get the best (or anyhting) out of them if they would rather be somewhere else.
I want to see TS bring the best out of these players as much as anyone else but if they want out then let them.
The only players in our club that strike you as having any work ethic whatsoever are Clarke, Westwood, Morley, Penny, Hicks & Riley. The rest, give you the notion that they could do more, they always look casual, like you never feel they are giving everything.
What worries me, is what effect it has on the younger players, why do ours never become world beaters, probably the environment. Blythe, Harrison, Picks etc, they probably see folk every day, and think this is the norm. You look at say Sinfield, JJB etc, they give you the impression that they train every day like they might never train again, that they give everything they have, there's a ruthless proffesionalism about them, you just don't get that impression from our lot.
