To give Leeds an excuse they do seem to have picked up their fair share of injuries over the last few years. When they have been playing at their best that have looked pretty formidable.
This recruitment lark needs a fair bit of luck. Mind you I always think how the hell did Wigan latch on to Bevan French & Jai Field who were obviously not rated, so much, in Oz.

We took a while to get over Briers. I think Leeds are suffering in a similar way post McGuire, Burrow and Sinfield. They've got two ex-Wire half backs for heaven's sake.

I was thinking more the recruitment of guys like Austin or Myler, who were basically your supposed rival's cast offs.

Most Wire fans couldn't wait to see the back of Austin and most were pretty astonished that he managed to wangle a gig at a club like Leeds.

Well Leeds fans are asking the question regarding recruitment and cap they think some are stealing a wage and they wan Smith to go now.

It was the much maligned Adrian Lam who recognised the potential of French and Field to play in Superleague.

This rarely gets mentioned by the Pie Eaters.

I never thought Myler would still be playing ... he seemed to take so many big hits whilst at Wire & he still takes them.
I reckon Austin suffered so much from either him or his half back partner getting injured. He was asked to do so much at Wire. He never lacked for effort.
As regards the fans there are a couple every year that some "fans" get their teeth into. Hughes (even when out injured), Holmes, Akauola, Jason Clark. This year it's Ratchford & Mata'utia who seem to get the odd dig slipped in. It is the modern way.

I continue to be unimpressed by matautia. He misses far too many 1 on 1’s in my opinion. Saturday’s match I think some allowance in defence on the left has to be made for Williams illness before and during the game and the fact that players were trying to cover for him.
