I'm a Saints fan and just watched the footage of the tackle Vaughan has got banned for, if that's a ban then we may as well stop playing tackle rugby. The whole disciplinary and mrp are not fit for purpose and just seem to be making it up as they go along.

When you consider KPP didn't even get cited for his very naughty tackle on Clark you've really just got to wonder what on earth they are looking at?
There is no conspiracy just rank incompetence.

Warrington aren't appealing the ban.

If I was a cynic I would say that with some clubs having paper thin squads the RFL decided to introduce fines so that sanctioned players would still be available to play for their team the following week. Obviously that's not the case as a £250 fine is a brutal penalty to pay when you only earn £50 k a year, even if they make some of it back from their appearance money.

Good evening Warrington. The above thread was exhausting to read through.

Bongser has merely one question: all these £250 fines - where does all that money go? Again merely an ingenuous question, no inference or prejudice. Curious, that's all.

Evening B&B, It used to go to fatboy Nigel Wood to replenish his biscuit stash. Not sure where it goes now. :)

I wonder, given the quantity of £250 fines they dish out, whether it's just a self sustaining exercise - they create the MRP then make its running cost neutral by the fine money they bring in.......

The following was on the Yorkshire Live website...

Initially, the money received from fines is used to cover the costs of the tribunals that take place throughout the season.

After those costs are covered, the money is used to fund many other projects. As an example, the RFL's 'Enjoy the Game' campaign last year introduced Ref Cams across the community game, which were funded by fine money generated during the 2022 season. The Ref Cams were implemented to improve player and fan behaviour and act as a deterrent to match official abuse.

Beyond that, the money has been used to provide education to people within the community game. One example of this is Minds Matter, a mental health charity that has produced parent workshops which demonstrate the impact their behaviour on the touchline has on their children. Using the fine money, these workshops are available at no cost to those who wish to attend.

Finally, the fine money is also used to make a donation to Rugby League Cares, a charity that has done great work for countless people within the game and is an important part of player welfare across the sport.

Just my opinions unless it's a FACT, in which case it's a fact.

Nope, I prefer a good conspiracy theory myself.
