As I always seem to be these days, I was massively disappointed with Catalans' showing. Yes, Hull look like a big, strong, rumbustious outfit but Catalans, with that squad, and particularly at home should be much, much better.
Alas, they seem to have the Warrington 2014/2015 disease - last tackle plays and general direction in attack in the opposition 20 that couldn't find a gap in a tramps vest. Carney is on holiday and Myler is still mute of voice, clumsy of foot and still wearing the potential tag like a perennial millstone.
Bit harsh. Admittedly, our 4 year-old, Ollie, can be a bit of a sod at times, and would have your fingers off in the blink of an eye, but he never attacks my daughter, and lets you stroke him under his chin, IF he's in a good mood.
Back on thread, Hull looked good and scored some cracking tries, and could/should've had a few more, but Catalans were pathetic. When I saw them in the early stages of the game, I thought "they're flipping HUGE, they'll destroy some teams this season". However, on the evidence of that second half "display", Swinton would've been a match for them. Appalling. Can they play any worse?
Hopefully, Hull aren't on our radar, any time soon. They'll remain competitive for a number of weeks, but then probably revert to type.....a few injuries, and then back to midtable mediocrity. They have form for this, since their appearance in the mid 2000's GF. Oh, and their Billy Big Biscuits, Hard Men supporters will more than likely behave like a bunch of Neanderthals at away grounds, and a few days later, corroborate their stories, and blame it on Hull City fans. They have form for that, too.

Can't help but agree with the bulk of that post. As much as I'd like to like FC, I just can't. I imagine how some of their fans are acting now is how some of ours have acted in the past, giving us the "always your year" tag, but in all honesty, I've seen FC fans do it waaayyy more in years gone by, and it'll only get worse until they inevitably revert to type around Easter.

I hate to say I told you so, but........
Hull did remain competitive for the next two rounds, then BOOM. Hull look pathetic, tonight, and have made Widnes seem like the Brisbane side of the 90's. Just a matter of time before they take their usual position of 7th, and amble through the season, despite breaking the bank on "high profile" players.
