Yep ... each to their own. But in my, humble, opinion being cynical & negative with almost all decisions does not help our club.
Just to clarify I am not totally over the moon myself with our season.
We have picked a team with lots of youngsters which is what most wanted ... so that is good isn't it? You have to be very careful about throwing youngsters in who are physically not ready (and can get hurt) against a pretty tough Huddersfield team.
Of course they can get hurt, and it doesn't matter what age or experience, as it's a contact sport, not tiddlywinks as a certain pundit used to say. If they are not physically ready, then perhaps RL is not the game for them and they shouldn't be picked in the matchday 17. There's only one way to find out if they're good enough, and that's giving them a reasonable run of opportunity, not one game and dropped only to appear several weeks in the future for the process to be repeated. This season confidence has evaporated in the team, and not just the likes of Thewlis, Wrench and Dean (who are 22, 20 and 21 respectively) and should have made more starts in their best position, than they've had. Then there's players sat on the bench and not getting on t all during the game. Yes, it's great to see so many youngsters in the squad for tomorrow, but we need a better way of integrating them from academy to first team regular. Where's the meritocracy, when players who get picked regardless of their poor performances, and Riley Dean gets dropped when he's had a good game but make an odd error? The inconsistency of the decision making for team selection by DP is baffling.
