That's because there are too many teams in SL, and there aren't enough players to sustain a competitive league.

I know everybody wants more players to help us compete with Australia but I don't think it would make a massive difference if we lost the talent factory that is Harlequins, Crusaders and Salford. If you had 10 teams or even better, 8 teams, you would be able to have a competitive league with a small overseas quota.

We still have that capacity to drop b0ll0x (see Cats and Hudds), but we do look good.

I wasn't watching in 86 but the most confident I've been as a Wire fan before TS arrived was late 1989 and early 1994. In those days I looked at the fixture list and if it wasn't Wigan I thought we would probably win. If it was Wigan I would think, we've got a chance, but we're underdogs.

Now I look at the fixture list and think whoever we play, we should win, with the disclaimer that, if we have an 'off day', then we are vulnerable to anybody in the top 8 and above.

I've not been this confident since 1973-74 when we won virtually everything.

I've never been this confident. It feels good to have something to come back to people with. I have never really had that. Having mostly Pie and Stains best friends it feels good knowing the team Wire have this year is head and shoulders better than theirs.

Perspective time, we beat Crusaders and Salford, we are still capable of turning up and being completely flat and that's why i'm never 100% confident. God i sound like Live Wired

As are every other team in the comp.

We beat Quins, Cru and Salford like it was men against boys.

Plus 3 good wins against Wigoon, Saints and Leeds an I still think the best is still to come from this team.

I think the main question mark over Wire is their ability to put it together during an intense play-off series....I think we are the best side in the competition in a one-off match, but our biggest test will be in the play-offs when you basically have to play 3 cup finals in a row.

As long as we don't get too depleted by injuries, I remain confident in our present squad, but just worry we might have a collective brainfart when it really matters.

Agreed Luke. The Catalan game doesn't actually look too bad now given their form since.
