Actions speak louder than words. For example, a press release stating Alan Langer has been released due to a career-ending ankle injury means nothing when he is playing State of Origin the following season.
A statement that Reardon is nearing fitness doesn't mean much when the fact is Reardon actually hadn't played for us since his injury at any level including reserves, which is maybe a fairer indication as to his medical assessment by Warrington than a stock comment from Lowes in the middle of the court hearings when Warrington were keeping comments to a minimum as they awaited the outcome of his trial.
Whatever words might have been said, we released him without him playing a game this season, and so to criticise the club for passing him fit is ridiculous.
Maybe the real question you should ask is why Hull announced a signing, with all the related bad press that they knew it would bring without even giving him a medical, and in fact apparently waited 11 days (until the day before he was due to be sentenced) to do so?
