What's wrong with signing Australian players? You're like a broken record.

The whole point of the franchise system was to promote the youth players and increase our pool of English talent, by signing these Australians we as a League are not doing much to help the cause.

I'm a great supporter of bringing young talent through and investing in academies, but that doesn't mean we should stop signing players from overseas altogether.

Look at the two signings announced for next season so far, Fa'alogo and Soliola, two quality New Zealand internationals who will only improve the standard of the Super League.

Hopefully we as a club can now stick to signing only top quality imports / players from within SL, and players who have come through our system can make up the bulk of the side in the future.

Although i agree with most of that in order for the young English players to make up the bulk of the squad in the coming years we need to give them a taste of the big time before we throw them in.
Buying more and more imports isn't giving them that chance and lets face it these imports are not always as good as there cracked up to be.

Let's say Rauhihi is gone at the end of the year, i personally would promote Harrison and the maybe Cooper could take Harrison's old place, would you go and get an Australian instead :?:

That was a supposed by-product in that it made it easier to do without risking "doomsday" scenario of relegation.

As for not doing much to help I suggest that the regulations that apply to all twams going forward are very much addressing this issue. I would be very suprised to see Saints sign any other import next year given their current commitments to existing over-seas players.

Obviously you will know better and that goes without saying.
