1. Channel Nine won't allow it unless its played at 10/11am BST to suit their Wednesday evening schedules. The alternative is its shown live in Aus on Thursday morning, cant see the ratings being very high though.
2. ARL don't need to bring it over here, not when they're developing ties in Melbourne and with plans and rumours for expansion to Perth.
3. Wembley would probably be the best stadia to play it at, but the majority of RL fans in the UK are northern based. They would need time off work in order to attend. Makes it even more awkward if the match kicks off in the morning.
4. An issue that was brought up when the IPL was being considered for England, what are the TV rights for RL in the UK? Setanta currently broadcast all SoO games like they broadcast all IPL games. But in cricket SKY have all the rights for cricket in the UK. Whats SKY's position with regards to RL being broadcast in the UK as they hold all league and international matches?
We're the first ones to starve, we're the first ones to die The first ones in line for that pie-in-the-sky And we're always the last when the cream is shared out For the worker is working when the fat cat's about
I can't the point of playing it in England whatsoever.
I could see where the idea came from to play in America, and I would quite like to see an Origin 3 played in Perth, but I don't see the point of playing one in England, even before you begin to take into account the logistics and the row it could cause between organisations and broadcasters.

Would be great to see an Origin decider at Subiaco, the interest in RL is definately there. A pre season friendly drew a healthy crowd to a substandard stadium, and I reckon the South Sydney - Melbourne game could go close to a sell out.
If a Perth or Adelaide team joins the NRL in 2013, maybe they'll take Origin games there in the couple of years beforehand. They cannot afford to ignore two of Australia's biggest cities any longer, expansion is crucial to the games long term prosperity over there.
