Union is played by people who close airports after a bit of snow, League is played by people who would go and have a snowball fight with a 747

Just a thought : Thu Feb 19, 2009 9:44 pm
I'm not sure if this thought worries me or not, but still...

There has been a lot of talk about Tony Smith replacing Jimmy Lowes at the end of this year, something that I'd be happy with if true.

But what if this talk is based purely on the fact Smith is out of contract with England this year? Thinking along those lines, the thought came into my head...

Brian Noble is also out of contract at the end of this year.

Firstly, could it happen, secondly, would you be worried if it did?

Noble would be a higher calibre coach than we have appointed for many years so no, it doesn't worry me. Can't see it happening though.

I can't make my mind up on Noble. Was he a great coach at Bradford who, for whatever reason, just doesn't seem to have had the same impact at wigan. Or is he just good coach who just happened to strike it lucky at Bradford?

He made the initial impact though by saving them from the drop. And a couple of 3rd place finishes isn't bad either I guess. Perhaps it only feels like he's not getting the job done because the Wigan team is a bit on the poop side?

Isn't it him assembling the squad though. Surely if they're poop, it's down to his purchasing and selection process

Picking up after the debacle with Millward he has shown steady progress finnishing 8th, 6th and 4th. If we were justified in giving PC time, having not shown anywhere near the same level of season on season improvement, I cannot see why Wigan would need to make a change.

Possibly because its heavily rumoured that BN and IL don't get on.

All of the fans who remember Wigan's WCC wins don't seem to like him either, all 7 of them. Not to mention the bandwagon jumpers who would do well in the boo boy brigade at the HJ
