I would also go with this line up. Don't think Tony Smith is a man of sentiment with regards to Riley. He has played well but had I been asked to pick our best 17./18 out of our squad I Think he would be the 18th Man. The KR game will be very physical as they are a big outfit. He might miss out on that alone.

I agree, I think.

I'm a bit on the fence, Riley in my mind is the most likely to muck up, make a bad errror and cost you a try/the game. He's also the most likely of that backline to make 50m+ break. I think it's important that you have that threat in your side, that's why I think I'm so keen for Penny to do so well.

ditto, i'd like to give riles ago alongside king but i from matt's pov i don't think it'd work, whereas bizarrely i think you could put anyone next to grix and get a decent combo going, eitherway tony will get it right.

I also feel a bit bad cos riles really hasn't done much to warrant being dropped, and he's had a decent run at FB where he's been improving and got shunted out of there as well.

Nothing to do with sentiment.

King and Grix to match Webster and Welham in the centres - we need some pace to counteract Fox and Colborn. Without Penny, Riley is the back most likely to do this both in attack and defence.

If Smith decides different, we'll see how we go. I am a bit concerned without Riley we're a bit pedestrian - until our new signing arrives

Agreed.

Having too many players makes a change from having too little though...

That's stretching it a bit - Grix has been filling in at left centre, I'd hardly call him a left centre though (if you know what I mean!)

The Wigan fans were threatening to slate Noble if he dropped S.Tomkins or Ainscough for recent matches but it just goes to show that Noble isn't as stupid as McNamara looks.
