In all the meetings that I have attended connected with the stadium when John Wilkinson was in attendance it has been clearly stated that the fans will be asked for their views on what the various stands, banqueting suites etc should be named.
The stadium name could be after a sponsor but will almost certainly include the City of Salford as well but I would assume that the naming rights for the stadium in that location could be fairly lucrative and the development company may want some return on their outlay, which I think is fair.
