I would like to think the club have sounded him out at least after the Gardner deal went flat, as for do we need another winger, it wouldn't be my top priority but I think McRae feels he could do with another. Broughton and Calderwood on the wings, we certainly wouldn't lack pace out wide. Although Gibson was really good for mine last season and we've brought young Paul Steele into the squad for next season I believe but I'd certainly consider taking Calderwood.

A few months ago, Mark Calderwood was another definite, heard from a reliable source type Salford signing, according to the Hull board. Of course, it never actually happened.

He'd started to look like a decent winger during his latter days at Wigan, but he's been plagued by injuries of late (I think he only played four times for Hull last season). There's a danger he could end up like Joey Hayes - plenty of pace but hamstrung by his hamstring.

Yeah the Calderwood rumours were strong a little while ago. Tend to agree with the above posts - I think he's faded over the last year or so but we do need another winger - we've only really got Broughton and Gibson i think and I prefer Gibson in the Centres - and Calderwood would be a usefull addition if fit and not too expensive

Mr Shed. When people TYPE IN CAPITAL LETTERS, do you read it as though the writer is actually shouting? Only, I thought this was just me.

Oh and when somebody posts with the grammatical capability of a five year old, do you picture the contributor as a drooling half-whit literally punching at various keys in no particular order before hitting 'submit'? Unless of course you happen to know the poster and let them off, raising a sypathetic c'est la vie infused smile as you do so. No? Just me?

Wasn't being personal with you there. The broken 'caps lock' trick isn't much of annoyance for me. Although I do read text written in capitals letters louder than lower case text.
