warrington are crap but they are on a full if not more than the salary cap, they have too many pre-madonnas in their line up on big fees but puting in big performances. We did well but for some elimentary errors by the referee we might have scored more in the first half. But a win is a win so heres to Monday and a Leeds team smarting from what they will see as poor reffing decs at bradford but were actually excellent and to the letter of the law.

I can see us, Celtic and Salford battling it out for the bottom 3 positions.

Were you one of the wire fans singing 'you're not singing anymore' at 18-16 with the kick still to come?

That was the sweetest moment ever. All the smug wire fans singing what has to be the worst chant ever. Always a cue for something to happen that makes the other teams fans sing.

Adamson was by far the best platyer on the pitch yesterday IMO. If he keeps on turning in performances like yesterday's he will be a Salford legend (as long as none of the big clubs nick him!) Big mentions for Wilshere, Swain & Stapo too. Myler had a decent game but it was certainly the 2 tries that won him the MOM. Although a great win the match wasn't the greatest spectacle but conditions obviously played their part. I think most fans can now see a chink of light at the end of the tunnel and know that although we will get a few tonkings there will also be some good days to look back on at the end of the season. If we can maintain some sort of defensive stability we will start to compete more.

Finally, a few words on Warrington. If I was a Wire fan (which thank god I'm not ) I would be asking some serious questions. How a team with so much alleged "talent" on the pitch can look so poor is beyond me. Monaghan, Anderson & Westwood looked distinctly average and I can only remember Screech touching the ball once when he took the short kick off which led to their last try. On yesterday's showing I would be amazed if they finsih anywhere near the top 6.

Your team has probably more spent on the cap.

You are aware of how the Salary cap works, right?

Salford spend around 1.3m (if that) when the cap is 1.8m (ish) Warrington on the other hand use the full 1.8M, so even if you've let Gleeson and Reardon go you've still now got to pay Mathers who will be on the equivalent or more than Reardon, but lets for argument say their like for like, then are you telling me Gleeson was on 1/2M a year?
