Would think so, but personally think that would be a mistake as he has a very solid year for me.

Just out of interest who are the current quota players and who is exempt.

Not sure if a potential player saying he might retire or could carry on for one more year is the right attitude. Undoubted good player but think that we need a more commited attitude from a big name signing. http://www.code13rugbyleague.com/2011/0 ... to-the-uk/

I'd really like to see Andrew Ryan at Salford next season, regardless if he's around retirement age. Class player. However, it doesn't seem that he'd entirely dedicated, which isn't what we want at all.

I don't think it would be worth signing Ryan at his age unless we have somebody else lined up to replace him immediately afterwards. He is only going to play for one more year by the sounds of it and if he gets injured then its just been a waste of money. Probably not worth the gamble.

With what has just happened to CC and us getting a new franchise is it time to love to them and see if they have any talented youngesters?

Would be worth for me getting a few younger kids and then if need be farming them out next season on dual contracts to Swinton if they get promoted.


We have a long history of getting talenteed Welsh players so maybe it's time to continue with this.

Shannan McPherson signed from South Sydney ?? - Prop - Second Row - apologies see seperate posting, must have had nose pushed out with all the Burgessess (how may esssesss is that !!!)
