SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
The small stand being built now looks really pathetic. Hopefully when clad it will look a little better. I also notice from the pics that the little stand so far being built also has stanchions along it as well. Hopefully they are just temporary affairs, because your ground will be really pathetic if there are roof supports every 10 metres along these smalller stands causing the view to be obstructed.

Look again , it is a cantilever design very similar to the LSV , but smaller

Just had another look and you are correct, my eyes are deceiving me. I thought the posts were in front of the terrace, but when i looked closely the terrace is actually stuck to them.

I think it will be just fine, a nice new ground with all the things you need to move forward.
Lets face it that stand looks fantastic, its a bit like Elland Road, all you see of that stadium is that big stand.
Have to say i'd plaster all those stand hoardings facing the M60 with billboards and Salford City Reds adverts, its a cash cow.
The main opportunity will be naming rights on the roof of the small stand opposite the main one , however , how much of that would go to the club will be debatable , normally naming rights are relevant to the profile of the club on TV or in the press , but as we are talking about people driving past , who the actual main tennant is will be less important than it normally would be
Some might look at this as being harsh but I think it's fair. When are the Rugby League going to stop persisting with this fantasy expansion. If it hasn't worked by now, it never will! I'm all for reaching out to a wider audience with our game but not at the expense of historical clubs in the homelands.
I'm no advocate of 'cardboard box' stadiums like Warringtons, but surely with the preparation of the ground etc already done it wouldn't have been too much more expensive to build a bigger stand than that? As said, I doubt the stadium will ever be expanded, and the stand at the moment seems hardly worth the effort.

Does everyone need to constantly moan about everything with regards to Salford? I understand the recent results, but for crying out loud, leave the new stadium alone.
Let's have some f****** joy about the fact we're getting a new stadium and more than likely will get a franchise.
There's too much moaning going on. I'd normally blame the weather, but understand it's been rather pleasant. Cheer the f*** up!!

It might not be that much more expensive if the ground has been prepared, but if its money that we don't have then we can't do it. Plus its got to be ready for next season, that was our promise to the RFL, so its quicker this way. Plus we won't fill the ground, so the smaller it is the more atmosphere they'll be (hopefully).
