Sad, Sad news. My Dad took me to The Willows too. I might not have been The Flyers cuppa tea but that doesn't mean humanity doesn't exist on here. Reading Iain's post justifies the true gentleman he was. At the end of the day, there's the bigger picture within life outside these chatrooms which makes the forum seem very insignificant. My heart sincerely goes out to Stouffer and your family...RIP Barton Flyer.

I'm sorry to hear this very sad news. His views on the team and all things rugby league were always worth listening to.

A genuine and heartfelt thank you to everyone who's posted, it honestly means a lot, especially those who've chatted to him down the years. I have no idea how well anyone on here knew him, but just in case: Dad's funeral is now confirmed for Thursday 21 April 2016. We'll meet at Co-Operative Funeral Care, Crompton Way (A58), Bolton, BL1 8NZ at 11 am for a humanist service to commemorate his life. From there we'll travel to Woodland Cemetery, City Road, Ellenbrook, Worsley, Manchester M28 1BD for the interment at about midday, then to the Willows Suite at the AJ Bell for a light lunch with a bar available. We could do with an idea of numbers so either DM me on here or email jonesyboy80@hotmail.com if you want to come along - anyone who would like to be there is more than welcome to help us give him the send off he deserves. There's also a justgiving page set up in his memory, with all donations going to the Christie, who cared for him and supported him throughout his illness - https://www.justgiving.com/IanJones49

I would like to add my message of sympathy to you and your family. Over the years I spoke to your dad at several games - mostly away matches - and always enjoyed his company. We both seemed to understand the idea "Well this is Salford" as we shared disappointments. He was a good man.
