I think that Goulding would be an excellent acquisition if he comes to the Willows and will add strength to what is our weakest area of the squad.

Is this Mossop fella a 2nd rower too? If so I don't know why we'd want him (no offence as I'm sure he's a decent player) as we're pretty well covered in the back row

I've heard from several sources that Warrington were forced to sell Gleeson because they face an enormous retrospective tax bill due to not paying enough on players image rights.

It could be a good move for both Salford and Goulding this one. Perhaps the lad could really benefit and develop by playing regular first team football, he's certainly got the potential. Could have a similar impact to when we signed another young centre from Wigan by the name of Scott Naylor a few years back?

You heard wrong. Martin Gleeson wanted out and we wanted him out because of his disruptive influence. Disapointing really as he's a good player but who wants a player that doesn't want to stay?

I'm not disputing Gleeson wanted out because that has been obvious for months. However, the alleged figure that Warrington owe will take some finding and the Gleeson fee and large salary saving will certainly help matters.

Why else would you sell an International player less than a third of the way into the season that has always performed so well under Tony Smith in GB colours? If anything you would have thought Smith's arrival would have helped and improved Gleeson's situation at Warrington?

In the Rugby League Express it states he is unsure whether to sign for you as it might not be in his best interests, if thats the case you are better off without him

bet he's changing his mind after recent results! i'd rather use some of our own lads TBH, if more injuries do arise then maybe look at bringing someone in!
